SR orders first HD outside broadcast unit
Saarländischer Rundfunk (SR), the public broadcaster based in Saarbrücken, Germany, has ordered a new multicamera HD outside broadcast truck from the Grass Valley systems group, to be built in the Grass Valley facility in Weiterstadt.

The truck will be used to provide coverage of cultural, entertainment and sporting events.

Freecaster, blinkx partner on extreme sports search
Video search engine blinkx has partnered with extreme sports clip library Freecaster to make the extreme sports content provider’s clips fully searchable via www.blinkx.tv.

Under the agreement, blinkx users will have access to Freecaster's unique sporting and music clips. Users can find highlights from events such as the Red Bull Air Race World Series, the Red Bull X Fighters and the Braun cruZer Tour. Blinkx.tv will also feature Freecaster's major athlete and rock star profiles, as well as extreme sports DVD trailers.

ESPN offers UEFA soccer matches online
ESPN has begun live Internet streaming coverage of all 125 UEFA Champion League soccer matches on a pay-per-view basis at ESPN.com's ESPNSoccernet.com and ESPNdeportes.com.

Indy car reports race onto mobile devices
IndyCar Series, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Digital Orchid have formed a partnership to deliver race image, audio and video features, and the latest racing statistics to fans via wireless devices, such as cell phones, according to a report on Indianapolismotorspeedway.com.
Indycar.com and Indianapolismotorspeedway.com will be selling all mobile content.

AT&T to distribute TVG Network horse-racing coverage
AT&T and interactive horse-racing network TVG Network this week announced a distribution agreement to deliver TVG's horse-racing programming as part of the AT&T U-verse TV channel lineup.

Under the agreement, AT&T U-verse TV customers will have access to TVG's full programming lineup, including up to eight live races an hour from more than 60  thoroughbred race tracks.
