FiberSat to provide Los Angeles broadcasters, programmers with uplink service

FiberSat Global Services has been retained to provide satellite distribution of several Los Angeles-based television programming services.

The company launched a multichannel digital satellite platform to support distribution of KJLA TV, LATV Network, KXLA TV and KVMD TV.

FiberSat Global Services will receive four separate signals through digital terrestrial circuits and provide MPEG-2/DVB digital video compression and satellite uplinking onto the Galaxy 11 satellite positioned at 91 degrees west longitude. The turnkey satellite services are being provided through facilities located within the company’s Los Angeles International MediaCenter.
