FOR-A switcher chosen for city council broadcasts

As the centerpiece of the WSPF-TV control room, operators use Hanabi HVS-1000HS HD/SD video switcher to cover 10 live government meetings per month.
The City of St. Petersburg, Florida has selected a Hanabi HVS-1000HS HD/SD video switcher from FOR-A for its city government television station, WSPF-TV.

The HVS-1000HS, a single M/E switcher that supports the 1080i, 24p, 720p, and SD formats, will be used in conjunction with a four-camera robotic system for the live broadcast of St. Petersburg City Council and other meetings.

WSPF-TV, which operates on a 24-hour basis and annually produces an average of 420 hours of original programming, has purchased the switcher as part of a planned upgrade from analog to digital. It’s being used to cover 10 live government meetings per month, including City Council meetings. The unit switches between four digital robotic cameras and signals from a video projection unit, document stand camera, and desktop and laptop PCs.
