Force introduces SMPTE-to-ASI format conversion, optical transport module for broadcasters, MSOs

Force has introduced a new SMPTE-to-ASI combination transport and format conversion module for the model 3762 Digital EXCELLinx fiber optic transport platform.

Model 3762 multiplexes two channels of digital or analog formats in any combination depending on the requirements of the broadcaster or cable operator.

The new 3762 module not only transports but also simultaneously converts SMPTE to ASI formats eliminating the need for additional costly conversion hardware that broadcasters or MSOs often need.

The product is intended to make the broadcast-to-MSO handoff much simpler and less costly.

Model 3762 multiplexes two channels of digital or analog formats in any combination depending on the requirements of the broadcaster or cable operator. All modules are hot-swappable and can be uniquely configured for each user.

With the new SMPTE-to-ASI conversion module, broadcasters can multiplex and handoff a converted SMPTE-ASI format and an analog broadcast signal with six audio channels or a 270 Mb/s SDI signal or multiple 19.4 Mb/s SMPTE signals.
