Former KMBC-TV engineering executive charged with wire fraud

Federal prosecutors allege that Jerry Dixon, former KMBC-TV engineering manager, committed wire fraud against the Kansas City broadcaster over a period of two years.

Dixon, of Overland Park, Kan., is accused of illegally obtaining electronic equipment and supplies, costing the KMBC-TV station more than $1.5 million.

Prosecutors contend that Dixon diverted the equipment for use in his privately owned company.

KMBC-TV management cooperated fully with law enforcement officials in their investigation. Dixon faces up to 10 years in prison.
