GCap Media’s Classic FM gets a TV makeover with ON-AIR Systems’ channel-in-a-box solution

May 21, 2008 11:18 AM

UK radio operator GCap Media has chosen ON-AIR Systems’ playKast channel-in-a-box playout system for its IPTV channel for Classic FM. The installation took just six weeks to get the classical music station on the air. The channel will feature short-form classical music videos, interviews, short features and specialty music shows.

Classic FM wanted to embrace emerging media distribution technologies, take more editorial control and expand its brand awareness. Using existing video editing systems, ON-AIR created a PC-based workflow with playout systems “in a box” to schedule, control and brand the new channel.
