Gearhouse Broadcast to use Harris HD solutions at 2006 World Cup

The Leitch 6800+ series of signal conversion modules provide all core processing and distribution functions in analog, SD, HD and optical formats.
Gearhouse Broadcast, a UK-based equipment rental, sales and systems integration company, has purchased SD and HD equipment from Harris Broadcast for use at the 2006 World Cup Soccer tournament in Germany this summer. Gearhouse Broadcast will provide technical production facilities to the host broadcaster in 12 cities throughout Germany, the majority of which will be covered in HD.

The equipment purchase includes a full complement of Leitch HD infrastructure products (6800+ series) and Videotek PTM-305 personal test and measurement devices. Leitch and Videotek are both units of the Harris Broadcast Communications Division.

The 6800+ series of signal conversion modules provide all core processing and distribution functions in analog, SD, HD and optical formats, offers integrated control and monitoring and supports SNMP for remote operation. Products are designed with a "core function per module" concept that ensures straightforward system designs with lower costs and higher performance.

The battery-powered Videotek PTM-305 includes a video test signal generator, color monitor, waveform/vector scope and an audio analyzer/monitor. It also includes an intuitive, menu-driven interface that is navigated easily on a touch-screen display.
