Geevs earns replay with Granada

Granada Television has chosen a Gee Broadcast Systems Geevs 2-channel video server to extend its transmission time for Manchester United TV.

Granada transmits MUTV, the first club-specific football channel in the world, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with extensions until 2 a.m. for match coverage. For the 2002-2003 Premiership Season, Granada required a server capable of up to 12 hours of continuous broadcast quality recording and playback.

Gee Broadcast supplied a 2-channel MPEG-2 server. In addition, the Software Development team at Gee Broadcast wrote a customized software application for record and replay based on the Geevs EZ Delay Software.

Geevs Servers are now used in more than 20 countries for a wide range of applications including live broadcast, cable TV, satellite channel playout and sports coverage.
