Grass Valley introduces new cameras at NAB2005

The LDK 4000 offers low-power consumption and Thomson’s HD Dynamic Pixel Management image sensor technology.
Thomson’s newly named Grass Valley division will show two new digital cameras at NAB2005: a single format HD camcorder and an SD camera with 14-bit image processing circuitry.

The LDK 4000 HD camera is designed for small-to-medium size digital production studios and media creation companies that have settled on either the 720p or 1080i HD as their primary format for acquisition. Customers can choose one or the other when ordering. It offers low-power consumption and Thomson’s HD Dynamic Pixel Management (HD-DPM+) image sensor technology that produces high-quality images.

The system includes a camera head, base station, an HD triax or fiber-optic cable adapter and the choice of either a 2- or 5in viewfinder. A series of optional features, control panels and signal transmission systems are also available.

The LDK 400 ITW SD camera features 14-bit processing and a dockable design that supports a wide range of settings over triax cables. It also offers high sensitivity (f14 at 2000 lux) and a signal-to-noise ratio (65dB typical). Users can choose between DPM and ultra-low smear IT sensors, including switchable (16:9/4:3) aspect ratio.

The LDK 400 camera head works with Grass Valley’s analog triax, digital wireless, diglLink and digital triax systems.
