Grass Valley HD production gear covers 2006 World Series

Grass Valley’s LDK 6000 HD cameras will be on hand in St. Louis to record balls and strikes.
As it has for many years, Grass Valley multiformat and HD acquisition and production equipment is capturing the excitement of Major League Baseball’s 2006 World Series live, in high-definition. The Fox Sports Network will broadcast The World Series in the United States in 720p HD format.
Veteran mobile production companies Dome Productions, located in Toronto, Ontario; Game Creek Video, in Hudson, NH; New Century Productions (NCP), in Allentown, PA; and NEP Supershooters, based in Pittsburgh; are all on site to cover the series.
Game Creek Video will handle the games from Detroit for Fox Sports with its Yankee Clipper, a 53ft HD expando unit that is based around a 90-input Grass Valley Kalypso HD Duo Video Production Center switcher. Canada’s Dome Productions is also on site in the motor city with its 53ft Trillium multiformat HD truck, which carries 10 Grass Valley LDK 6000 mk II Worldcam HD cameras and a Grass Valley Kalypso HD switcher to support the HD telecast.
NCP’s 53ft all-digital NCP-VII HD truck — complete with 16 Grass Valley LDK 6000 mk II Worldcam cameras, a Grass Valley LDK 6200 HD Super Slo-Mo Camera system and a Grass Valley Kalypso HD switcher — is handling live game coverage for Fox Sports from St. Louis. NCP also sent its NCP-VIII unit, which features a Kalypso HD switcher and 12 Ikegami HDK-79ECT HD cameras.
NEP sent its 53ft SS-18 HD truck to produce the pre- and post-game shows for ESPN, which carries 10 Grass Valley LDK 6000 mk II Worldcam HD cameras and a Kalypso Duo HD switcher (upgraded from a Kalypso SD switcher.). The company’s HD truck will also be on hand, using an equal complement of 10 LDK 6000 mk II Worldcam HD cameras and a Kalypso HD switcher, to capture live images throughout the series. These feeds will be made available to foreign broadcast outlets for international distribution.
