Harmonic acquires UK-based Broadcast Technology

Harmonic, a provider of digital video, broadband optical networking and IP delivery systems, has completed the acquisition of UK-based Broadcast Technology (BTL), a manufacturer of professional video/audio receivers and decoders.
By integrating BTL into its Convergent Systems Division, Harmonic said it now can offer an expanded product line for existing and emerging cable, satellite, terrestrial broadcast and telecom applications.
Harmonic said that the acquisition will have little impact on its revenue and earnings for the first quarter ending April 1.
