Harris intros latest version of NetVX

The new NetVX targets operators looking for improved bandwidth efficiency, enhanced HD services, disaster recovery, event support, remote newsgathering, and IP-based video transport.

Harris has released the latest version of its multi-format encoding system, the NetVX.

The unit’s single-box design leverages packet switching for sending signals bi-directionally over ATM, IP, DS-3, fiber (OC-3), satellite and microwave networks. It also supports triple-play services.

The NetVX includes a low bit-rate SD encoder; SD statistical-multiplexing; HD functionality in a 5RU frame; IP-over-ASI operation; the ability to support audio and video file-based transport between a studio and transmitter site; and a packet-based architecture that allows simultaneous support of IP traffic, network connectivity for Internet access and corporate e-mail; faster than real time file transfer of full-motion video and audio as well as VoIP telephony between sites.
