SBE, ATSC to sponsor ENG seminar

SBE is co-sponsoring a half-day seminar February 21 on digital electronic newsgathering with the ATSC. The seminar takes place in conjunction with the 11th Annual Hollywood Post Alliance (HPA) Technology Retreat in Palm Springs, CA.
The seminar will feature experts involved in the development of digital ENG technology and related standards. Presentations will cover topics including the technical aspects of the data return link (DRL) system, digital ENG implementation considerations, frequency coordination, spectrum issues and HDTV from the field.

| The data return link (DRL) system promises to dramatically change the digital ENG landscape by controlling interference and providing for signal identification. This presentation reviews the status of work now underway within ATSC to develop the necessary specifications for DRL design and use. | ||
