Snell & Wilcox implement new technology at IBC2003

Snell & Wilcox will focus on the practical implementation of new
technology in ingest, conversion, restoration, switching,
infrastructure, control and management at IBC2003.
Snell & Wilcox Archangel Ph.C provides
real-time restoration of a variety of film and video impairments,
including providing noise reduction in areas of high movement; uses
Ph.C Phase Correlation motion estimation technology.
Key to users will be the company's across-the-board implementation
of metadata friendliness. Supporting both AAF and MXF, Snell &
Wilcox will show how they and partners are supporting the easy file
transfer and metadata generation.
Among the metadata friendly applications to be demonstrated are
ingests-for playout and ingest for archiving. In the latter case,
Archangel Ph.C provides real-time restoration for the source material
before ingest. Both are centered on the Snell & Wilcox mastering
and repurposing system.
Other metadata friendly applications will be shown in the
presentations for "Ingest Station," Mosalina and RepoDepot.
