Quartz Electronics, an international manufacturer of routing and
master control products, announced that Turner Entertainment Networks
placed an order for two Quartz QMC-HD master control switchers. The
QMC-HD, part of the QMC range, allows for the handling of uncompressed
HD signals, as well as supporting multiple levels of key and eight
channels of audio with full internal shuffling. Other features include
an internal logo store and dual voiceovers.
Control will be from Turner's automation system with QMC-FS control
panels for manual operation.
Turner will utilize the switchers for its upcoming HD Channel,
slated to launch in spring 2004. The channel is Turner’s first HD
offering.
