Highway Television adds Fairlight Constellation console with Xynergi

According to Huges Bonnet, Highway Television senior sound engineer, the growing number of customers working in HD with 5.1 surround sound motivated the facility to acquire the Fairlight Constellation with Xynergi.
Highway Television has become one of the first post-production facilities in the world to acquire a new Fairlight Constellation with Xynergi center section, Fairlight said last month.
Founded in 1995, the Parisian company is one of the largest independent post houses in France. Located near the Eiffel Tower, Highway Television operates two studios and specializes in all aspects of audio and video post production, including HD and 5.1 surround sound. Its clients include many of the country’s top broadcasters.
Highway Television installed a new 230-channel Constellation in its main studio to capitalize on the speed, flexibility and open file format architecture of Fairlight’s latest technology.
According to Huges Bonnet, chief engineer at Highway Television, the growing number of customers working in HD with 5.1 surround sound required the facility to add a larger console. Constellation met the facility’s needs because “it has plenty of additional channels for plug-ins and provides an open platform that allows us to work with any file format,” Bonnet said.
Highway’s Constellation includes Fairlight’s Xynergi controller, which delivers tools for high-end audio and video production in all widely used surround formats. The Xynergi controller is located in the center of the console, making this the first Fairlight product to include Xynergi in a large console format.
