Huawei, DiBcom HSPA datacard works for mobile TV on PCs, notebooks in Europe, Asia

Mobile TV solution provider DiBcom’s new chipset, the DIB9080-H, which includes a tuner and demodulator, has been chosen by Huawei for its new High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) card E510, one of the first wireless datacards that adds DVB-T free-to-air mobile TV functionality on any PC throughout Europe and in parts of Asia.

The E510 supports wireless standards from GSM/GPRS/EDGE (in 900/1800/1900MHz) to HSPA/UMTS (in receiver diversity at 2100/900MHz). Based on a 3.5G HSPA modem allowing very fast data transfer rates (7.2Mb/s HSDPA and 2Mb/s HSUPA), it combines the advantages of mobile communication and broadband service to meet high-speed Internet access requirements.

Mobile TV availability comes from integrating DiBcom's DIB9080-H receiver, which includes both a triband RF tuner and a demodulator in a single compact chip that supports both DVB-T and DVB-H standards.
