IBC honors ITN for innovation in content delivery

Oct 4, 2007 8:03 AM

The IBC recognized UK newscaster ITN with its Innovation Award for Delivery during IBC2007 for development of NeMeSys, an expandable delivery platform to fill the need to serve up content to a growing number of users accessing material via mobile, broadband and IPTV technology.

ITN developed NeMeSys based on Telestream’s FlipFactory transcoding system to deliver the required format and metadata for the appropriate distribution technology.

In accepting the award, ITN head of IT technology Ian Auger said development of NeMeSys had not been easy, and that work continues on the project.

Other contenders for the honor included Verizon Wireless for MediaFLO and BBC for Multicast.
