India’s Sahara TV has purchased several Tektronix video test and measurement instruments for its eight new TV channels and new uplink earth station, located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. Sahara Television Network, one of the largest business groups in India, is adding seven more television channels, bringing its total complement of channels to eight.

Since Sahara TV uses both analog and digital video in its studios, monitoring solutions that support each standard are required. Sahara TV will monitor signal quality in post-production and program control throughout the facility using only Tektronix equipment, including the 1741A Analog Waveform Monitor and WFM601 Series Standard Definition Digital Waveform Monitor and SV970 MPEG Stream Analyzer.

Sahara TV will also use the Tektronix TG700 Signal Generator, a modular platform designed to provide test signals in a variety of analog and digital formats in its recently launched uplink facility in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, near Delhi.
