ITN Source is using the Volicon Observer to monitor and record FOX Business Network programming and to retrieve desired footage using the system’s closed-captioning database.

ITN Source, a commercial provider of motion imagery, has added a Volicon Observer to monitor and log content appearing on the newly launched FOX Business News for FOX News.

The Observer lets ITN Source deliver licensed FOX Business News content to clients immediately upon broadcast without the delay of manually searching and retrieving content from a videotape source.

ITN Source provides licensed footage to independent researchers and public relations agencies representing high-profile corporate leaders who make guest appearances on FOX News broadcasts. Prior to adding the Observer, ITN Source relied solely on a time-consuming tape-based process for locating footage and delivering it to clients. ITN Source staffers were required to manually search through videotapes for the requested footage, which then had to be digitized and converted to QuickTime or Windows Media Video files and delivered to the client via FTP.

As FOX prepared to launch its new FOX Business Network, ITN Source viewed offering a digital content logging system as an opportunity to strengthen its relationship with FOX News by providing immediate content delivery to clients requesting FOX Business Network content. The Volicon Observer provides 24-hour monitoring and recording of FOX Business Network programming and enables ITN Source staff to search for and instantly retrieve footage via the system's closed-captioning database. The footage can then be easily exported to a DVD for distribution to the client.
