Joanna Shields, VP and managing director EMEA of Facebook, will present the keynote address at IBC2011, Friday, Sept. 9, at the RAI in Amsterdam, show organizers said.

A rising industry star, Shields recently was named as Wired magazine's No. 1 UK Digital Power Broker. She will address the relationship and revolution social media has developed with broadcasting and present her perspective on the future implications of the pairing.

At Facebook, the primary role of Shields is focusing on elevating Facebook as the world's most valuable marketing and communications platform for global advertisers and brands. For more than two decades, her focus has been on creating, managing and scaling international technology businesses, maximizing shareholder value, and leading start-up companies to successful exits.

Shields has been a driving force on the European Internet landscape, having held key positions at companies such as Real Networks International, Google and Bebo, where she built the company from a start-up into one of Europe's leading social networks. She spearheaded its successful acquisition by AOL, Time Warner for $850 million in March 2008.

Shields will also join other key industry luminaries in the IBC Leaders' Summit, an elite invitation-only event focused on leadership in a digital age and underpinned by new research from Deloitte.

Shields is scheduled to deliver her keynote at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9.
