At IBC2004, JVC showed its new SR-DVM70 Mini DV/DVD/HDD triple deck, which offers three-way recording onto DVD, hard disk and miniDV cassettes. The company's DVD recorder, the BD-X200E was also displayed.
The GY-DV5001E professional camcorder and DR-DV5001E hard disk recorder were demonstrated recording images from the JVC stand in Matrox file format for direct import into a Matrox nonlinear editing system.
Also shown was JVC’s line of HDV format equipment — including a new prototype three-chip HDV camcorder to complement its JY-HD10 single-chip version. This feature supports the integration with other vendor technology such as Sony's HDCAM, and Panasonic's D5-HD VTRs and DVCPRO HD and Varicam cameras. The system also supports most primary HD image formats, including 24p.
Compactness and portability are key features of JVC’s new CU-VH1EX DV/HDV field-recorder featuring an integrated HD MPEG 720p/30 encoder. Images generated from the JY-HD10 HD camcorder can be recorded onto this machine and viewed on its 3.5-inch LCD monitor. Editors can spool HD content from the tape to the NLE system, and then record the edited program back to tape without using the JY-HD10.
JVC also showed a range of new DT-V and TM-series CRT monitors, new plasma monitor displays and TFT monitors. The DT-V series have a user-selectable HD/SD capability that provides multi-format display and audio monitoring in a single monitor. Featuring three expansion slots, the units support most common formats, including HD, SD, PAL, NTSC, 480p, 1080i, 720p or 24pSF cinema configurations.
