Korea’s C&M cable to launch on-demand services with MediaHawk platform

Cable and Multimedia (C&M), Korea’s HFC MSO, has selected Concurrent Computer’s MediaHawk on-demand platform for a real video-on-demand (RVOD) field trial and for the subsequent launch of commercial and advanced on-demand services.
The platform separates streaming, storage and content ingest for 3-D scalability, and is a foundation for the delivery of the on-demand services, including movies-on-demand (MOD), subscription-VOD (SVOD), free-on-demand (FOD), long-format advertising (LFA), network-based digital video recording (NDVR) and high-definition VOD (HDVOD).
