ZapMyTV signs with Internap
ZapMyTV has contracted with Internap Network Services to provide the content delivery network (CDN), data center co-location, professional services and Performance IP networking for the launch of a new service that broadcasts cable TV programming over the Internet.

ZapMyTV, which plans a rollout over the next two quarters, will offer subscribers multiple content tiers of service. Internap’s bundled solution provides the network and data center services to build and scale mission critical Web sites and media netcasting.

Orca Interactive plans Asia-Pacific expansion
Orca Interactive said last week it plans to expand into the Asia Pacific market as part of a strategic expansion.

Orca will initiate business development activities across the region during the third quarter of 2008, which will be supported by the existing presence of Orca subsidiary Viaccess. In addition to its RiGHTv middleware, Orca’s product offering for the Asia Pacific market will include its COMPASS content discovery platform.

South Central Communications chooses ECI Telecom ROADM, MSTP
Utah telecom South Central Communications has selected ECI Telecom’s XDM all-range ROADM (Reconfigurable Optical Add Drop Multiplexer) and converged Multi-Service Transport Platform (MSTP) solution for its fiber transport network.

The XDM platform will allow South Central to provide data-rich services to businesses, health and education institutes, as well as triple-play offerings, such as IPTV and high-speed Internet, to residential users.

IP-PRIME, NHL Network ink transport agreement
SES Americom IP-PRIME will make the NHL Network available in both HD and SD to IP-PRIME operators across the United States, the companies announced last week.

The transport agreement between the two companies makes the NHL Network available to all U.S. IP-PRIME operators. Each operator must sign an individual carriage deal with NHL Network to offer the network to its subscribers.

Tech Mahindra forms strategic alliance with Microsoft
Indian software exporter and solution provider Tech Mahindra has entered into a strategic global alliance with Microsoft to address its system integration requirements for deployments of the Microsoft Mediaroom IPTV and multimedia software platform.

Through the alliance, Tech Mahindra's solution will provide deployment and integration services for new and existing Microsoft Mediaroom broadband service provider customers to deploy IPTV services.
