AT&T rolls out new U-Verse TV interactive features in Detroit area
AT&T U-verse said Nov. 19 that it had rolled out a suite of new U-verse TV features for subscribers in the Detroit area.
The new interactive features include AT&T U-bar, a customizable information source; YellowPages.com TV; and AT&T Yahoo! games. The new features are available at no added charge.

Long Island community gives Verizon go ahead for FiOS TV
The Huntington Bay (Long Island, NY) Board of Trustees granted a video franchise to Verizon Nov. 19, paving the way for the company to offer its FiOS TV service to area residents.
The vote brought to 74 the number of New York communities that have approved video franchises for Verizon.

Awards to recognize episodic digital series
ON Networks and the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference and Festival will recognize the best in digital entertainment with the Greenlight Awards, a new competition aimed at discovering great, original and episodic digital series.
Digital series vary in length and are available to consumers via the Web, mobile devices, gaming consoles, IPTV and digital cable systems.
Submissions will be reviewed from December through Feb. 15, 2008, culminating at an exclusive event during SXSW 2008, March 7-15. Detailed information about submission criteria will be available in early December from the organizations’ Web sites.

TinselVision, B4U Music ink deal
Online VOD destination TinselVision said Nov. 22 it will begin offering about 500 hours of Indian and Bollywood music videos and programming from B4U Music.
B4U currently delivers Bollywood music videos, "Indipop," and music programming via satellite to audiences in more than 100 countries. The deal with TinselVision provides access to new online audiences and an opportunity for increased overseas receipts.

IPTV World Forum slated for Jan. 29-30, 2008
The IPTV World Forum will be held Jan. 29-30, 2008, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The event will explore the challenges and the potential for IPTV in Latin America and the issues surrounding its deployment within the region. An early booking discount is available until Dec. 14, and free exhibition passes are available by registering online.
