Patriots-Colts game draws highest ratings in two decades for CBS network

The recent NFL game on CBS between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts drew the highest rating for a Sunday afternoon NFL broadcast since at least 1987, when it began keeping such records, according to an Associated Press report. It was seen by an average of 22.5 percent of homes in the top 56 U.S. media markets, the network said, and was the top-rated TV program of any network since ABC’s broadcast of the Academy Awards in February.

F&F Productions captures World Series in HD for Fox

Veteran mobile production company F&F Productions’ GTX-15 HD truck helped bring MLB’s World Series home to fans live in HD with Ikegami HDK-79EC multiformat HD cameras. The truck was stationed in Boston for all Red Sox home playoff games, and games one and two of their World Series sweep of the Colorado Rockies. This was F&F’s third time covering the World Series.

Ikegami’s HDK-79EC cameras feature three 2/3in 2.5-megapixel specified CMOS imaging sensors, which work well in a variety of HD standards. The GTX-15 truck, which can accommodate up to 24 cameras, is also equipped with two Ikegami HDL-50 compact full digital HD cameras for POV shots and Ikegami HLM-1710WR and HLM-2200 HD LCD monitors.

BBC Outside Broadcasts monitors surround with DK-Technologies

Audio and video metering specialist DK-Technologies has supplied two MSD600M++ surround-sound audio meters to BBC Outside Broadcasts, part of BBC Resources.

The meters have been installed into BBC Outside Broadcasts’ Unit 2 and Unit 12 vehicles, which are used to record sports and entertainment programs in 1080i HD.

Since installing the audio meters, BBC Outside Broadcasts has used the new units to monitor audio signals at a variety of events, including Wimbledon coverage.

Both vehicles are equipped with Calrec Sigma digital consoles that have recently been upgraded to incorporate Bluefin networking technology.
DK-Technologies’ MSD600M++ is a multichannel audio analyzer that accepts up to 32 input channels. It has four configurable input slots and four output slots. The unit features a phasemeter, audio vector oscilloscope and PPM/VU level, while optional modules include analog, AES3 and SD-SDI formats.
