A four-week struggle that saw LIN TV go dark in several cable markets for most of October has been resolved. Time Warner Cable and the broadcaster announced a new retransmission deal, placing LIN’s programming from 12 stations back on the cable operator’s system. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The blackout, which began on Oct. 2, affected 1.5 million subscribers in markets that included Austin, Buffalo and Columbus. “We are pleased to have reached a fair market agreement with Time Warner Cable,” said Vincent L. Sadusky, LIN’s president and CEO, in a statement.
