Manhattan Producers Alliance delivers for Nickelodeon

The Manhattan Producers Alliance, a cooperative providing a new business model for composers, producers and sound designers, recently had one member complete a major project for Nickelodeon.

The network asked Alliance member Wade Tonken to compose for the new Nick Jr. Playalong, a two-hour block of programming that began airing daily in late September.

The Alliance provides its members with digital production and Internet connection facilities and technology to support their wide-ranging work. Using its resources and facilities, Tonken assembled a range of talent, all of whom could work with their systems at their own locations.

While using the Alliance as a hub, Tonken was able to interface with his talent virtually from remote locations. The talent was able to collaborate without ever simultaneously being in the same studio.
