MicroDisplay has announced that it will soon begin manufacturing HDTVs for well-known brands, powered by its proprietary 1080p liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) digital projection imaging technology.
A Silicon Valley start-up, MicroDisplay claims its single-chip design provides an exceptionally high-quality HDTV picture at a lower manufacturing cost. It is the first company to mass-produce LCOS devices with the fast response times necessary for use in a single-chip design.
