A free trial version of MXFPlayer and theScribe software applications from MOG Solutions is being distributed with all Sony XDCAM Professional Disc System purchases throughout Europe. The new MXF product, announced at IBC2005 and now commercially available, enables MXF files to be played on a laptop.
These MXF tools distributed with XDCAM products allow users to fully exploit the capabilities of MXF and take advantage of the benefits of metadata and essence in workflow.
In addition to the MXFPlayer, the demonstration CD also contains theScribe, an MXF application designed to manage MXF files. With theScribe, a full-featured MXF metadata editor, users can create and play MXF files, as well as synchronize the metadata with relevant audio-visual material. Both tools enhance the use of XDCAM camcorders within a networked IT environment, enabling easier integration of either high quality or proxy streams into workflows.
