Belgium’s mPhase Technologies has announced that telephone companies around the world can now offer high-quality video services over their existing telephone wires using its mPhase TV+ solution.
The mPhase TV + Entertainment Solution includes all the elements of an entertainment system over copper telephone wires or DSL networks. According to Thompson, it integrates an industry standard Lucent Technologies product into a comprehensive package.
The company also announced the availability of new set-top boxes (STBs) that also function as an intelligent network interface (INI) with an integrated DSL modem providing Internet access and broadband data services via an integrated Ethernet connection as well as television.
The mPhase TV+ System includes three elements: a video services operating system, an industry standard line concentrator from Lucent Technologies and the mPhase TV+ STBs.
