Christian network standardizes on Gepco cable

In addition to its cable, Gepco supplied Daystar with ADC patchbays, patchcords, more than 10,000 connectors, DT multichannel snake cable assemblies and TT to XLR patchcord adapter cables.
Daystar Television Network has built two new all-digital production studios at its 86,000sq ft International Ministry Center, based in Bedford, TX. All of the audio and video production pieces are connected with Gepco cables.
Steve McNeal, director of engineering for Daystar, said more than 100 miles of Gepco cables are being used to move audio, video, triax, control and intercom signals throughout the building.
For Daystar’s two studios, two production control rooms, four video editing suites, two audio editing suites, and a Network Operations Center, McNeal purchased a variety of Gepco cable and more than 10,000 connectors.
This gear is being used with 17 Hitachi Z3000 and Z4000 cameras, Yamaha digital consoles, and seven Miranda Kaleido-K2 modular multi-image display processors. Additionally, Daystar can monitor any of the 70+ computers from any of the 48 dedicated workstations at the headquarters. Using Raritan, a computer system originally designed to be used by classroom teachers to work concurrently with students, the network can now monitor the return feeds as well as any other source from not only the control rooms, but also throughout the facility.
