New York City offers live feeds from Times Square

The New Year's Eve video feed was provided free to media organizations around the world.

New York City provided television broadcasters with an eight-camera live feed on New Year’s Eve from Times Square.

The coverage offered panoramic views of Times Square and the New Year’s Eve Ball from proprietary camera locations on rooftops and on the street. At midnight, the numerals 2006 lit up amidst a blizzard of confetti and Grucci fireworks to welcome the New Year.

The uninterrupted feed was provided free of charge to media organizations around the world on a non-exclusive basis solely for their use in creating television programming relating to the event.
