Veteran mobile production company National Mobile Television (NMT) is now the exclusive rental agent in the live sports production market for Panavision’s new lens, the 300x high-definition lens. Featuring compound zoom technology and a 300:1 zoom ratio, the 300x is compatible with Thomson Grass Valley's LDK 6000 HD camera and will be available for broadcast applications either separately or as a package through NMT’s Los Angeles or New Jersey offices.
The agreement is significant for both companies in that NMT will benefit from new rental revenue while Panavision, known mainly for its feature-film applications, gains a foot into the sports broadcasting market.
