The Los Angeles County chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) has named systems integrator National TeleConsultants (NTC) as a co-recipient of an Electrical Excellence Award for its work on audiovisual systems at HBO's new Santa Monica, CA, headquarters.

The award recognizes media systems design and construction administration services. The HBO Santa Monica Headquarters Audiovisual Systems project won in the Electronic Systems (more than $500,000) category. The award recognized the electronic systems contractor (Direct A/V), as well as the owner (HBO) and electrical engineer (NTC).

The annual competition was open to NECA members who completed projects between Jan. 1, 2005, and Dec. 31, 2005, in Los Angeles or Ventura Counties. A panel of industry professionals selects award winners based on originality, aesthetics, workmanship and difficulty of installation.

The NTC team working on this project included: project director Darrell Lew; principal consultant Rich Hill; senior consultants Tom Levno, Keith DeBelius and Peter Mason; project engineer Joe Gaudente; and director of implementation services Terry Priesont.

CRESA Partners and HLW architects, including Syska & Hennessey (MEP) and PlanNet (voice-data), led the HBO design team.
