Pace ships digital home gateways to Comcast



The DC-510 is based on a single-chip design, it is integrated with video-on-demand (VOD) applications, including movies-on-demand, subscription video-on-demand (SVOD), and free-on-demand (FOD) services.

Pace Micro Technology, a cable set-top box manufacturer, has announced shipments of digital cable gateways to Comcast Cable/AT&T, the cable and broadband communications provider serving approximately 21 million subscribers, based in Philadelphia, Penn.

The second major U.S. cable operator to order digital gateways from Pace, Comcast plans to deploy Pace’s DC-510 gateway in various systems throughout its service area. Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Pace DC-510 is based on a single-chip design. It is integrated with video-on-demand (VOD) applications, including movies-on-demand, subscription video-on-demand (SVOD), and free-on-demand (FOD) services; and has an integrated EPG for easy viewing.
