Panasonic adds content delivery and scheduling to its plasma display panels

Panasonic has added IP-based content delivery and scheduling to its plasma display panels.

The content delivery and scheduling capability will be merged with the company's TH-37PWD6UY 37” widescreen 4000:1 contrast ratio enhanced definition plasma display, and with the BB-S700PD media player and the BB-SMG700 media server.

Together, this all-in-one software package will feature network management, media distribution, individual (or group) plasma screen schedule creation with local- or remotely-controlled playback, data encryption, and terminal (media player) management enabling a fully-networked server-to-plasma content play-out system.

The system is aimed at marketing managers or their advertising agencies looking to build an automated networked display system for a wide array of audio/visual information. The media player supports high-performance audio and video images at 24fps or 30fps 480 line progressive resolution, which may be complemented by still frames and Web content.
