The AJ-SDC905 offers EFP-quality 4:2:2 sampled DVCPRO50 or 4:1:1 sampled DVCPRO recording, at native 16:9 wide-screen or 4:3 aspect ratios. It features three 2/3in 520,000-pixel 16:9 native CCDs to produce 750 lines of resolution, a sensitivity of F13 at 2000 lux, and low-light shooting down to 0.01 lux (at +68dB).
It is equipped with 12-bit A/D DSP circuits that provide improved picture quality, color reproduction and luminance gradation, and a 65dB signal-to-noise ratio.
It offers as standard a six-second pre-recording function that permits it to capture spontaneous scenes a shooter might otherwise miss. The camcorder also offers a Retake Mode — a feature for news shooting. The mode allows the camcorder to automatically back up to the start of the last take and record over it. Additionally, the camcorder provides one-frame interval REC for time-lapse recording.
