Pinewood Group’s new 16ft, 48-fader Euphonix System 5 dual-operator console installed in its Pressburger Theater is one of two recently added Euphonix high-end mixing consoles.

The prestigious UK-based film and TV facility Pinewood Group has installed two additional Euphonix System 5 mixing consoles for a total of four high-end film mixing consoles.

A 24ft, 64-fader Euphonix System 5 dual-operator console has been installed in Pinewood’s Powell Theater, while a 16ft, 48-fader Euphonix System 5 dual-operator console was installed in Pinewood’s Pressburger Theater.

The completion of the installations marks the end of a renovation and upgrade of the studio that started with two Euphonix System 5 dual-operator film-mixing consoles previously installed in the Korda Theater and in Theater 1 on the Shepperton Lot.

All four of the theaters now have the most up-to-date Euphonix specifications possible, including six-card DSP SuperCores enabling a large number of tracks and full interchange of projects among the theaters in the Pinewood Group. Each console features the EuCon Hybrid, the company’s high-speed Ethernet control protocol option for System 5. EuCon Hybrid allows seamless, transparent control of any digital audio workstation. With EuCon Hybrid on all four consoles, engineers can bring up DAW tracks onto the System 5 channel strips as well as the Euphonix DSP channels, allowing fast and easy access to the pre-dubs.

The Pinewood Group is made up of Pinewood, Shepperton and Teddington Studios. The studios have 34 stages, one of Europe's largest exterior water tanks, an underwater filming stage and 10 digital TV studios as well as post-production services.
