Network Electronics’ VikinX routing switcher will accommodate Emitel’s multiple signal distribution needs via a variety of configurations that include combinations of audio, video and 34Mb/s telecom routers linking 19 diverse locations.
Emitel, a nationwide telecommunications operator, has chosen a remotely controlled Network Electronics’ VikinX compact router system for its elaborate network headquartered in Warsaw, Poland, and spread over 19 geographically diverse locations.
Emitel’s multiformat VikinX system is designed to accommodate their multiple routing needs via a variety of configurations that include combinations of audio, video and 34Mb/s telecom routers. All 19 locations are connected to an Ethernet Wide Area Network (WAN) and controlled and monitored from Warsaw via Network Electronics’ THOR control system with the optional Tie Lines user interface. Dedicated paths between the different router sites provide high safety and reliability of the signal transport, however, all sites have local control panels installed for emergency switching.
Zakad Elektroakustyki Profesjonalnej, a local systems integrator, performed the hardware installation at all sites, while Network Electronics engineers installed the software configuration and facilitated testing.
