Quantel bolsters eQ editing system with HD-RGB handling

Quantel’s eQ editing/effects/grading/mastering system got a boost recently when the company decided to add HD-RGB handling to go with its existing HD-YUV capability. The company is following other market movers by heading in the direction of 4:4:4 image handling. The difference is that in this application, HDCAM-SR uses only mild compression to store the full 4:4:4 HD-RGB signal data, providing the industry with a viable way of moving high-quality, high-resolution digital images around. eQ offers its users the choice of full-quality HD-RGB and full-quality HD-YUV signal handling, allowing users to choose the most appropriate format for each job rather than being forced down one path by the technology. The HD-RGB option for eQ is now available.
