The SBT3-7500 from Streambox is one of the video transport systems being deployed by the American Red Cross.
The American Red Cross is using newsgathering technology to enhance its field workers’ mobility, decrease their response times and quickly deploy resources to areas affected by disasters. The non-profit organization is turning to Streambox’s ACT-L3 solutions that are typically used for live newsgathering via broadband and IP to facilitate an effective means of viewing real-time disaster relief that will help Red Cross operations during national emergencies.
The Red Cross will deploy the compact SBT3-7500 Video Transport and ACT-L3 portable video transport systems, both of which are easy to carry and can be set up in minutes at any location. The Streambox solution also includes IFB and broadcast servers, which enable the use of a back-channel connection to communicate even when other infrastructures have been knocked out.
With the move to Streambox systems, the organization gains an integrated solution for transmission of video and audio over low data rate networks such as BGAN and other IP networks. The multisystem deployment also allows the relief organization to cover events simultaneously, deploy resources to ensure efficient coverage and exchange information in an effort to maximize preparedness and coordination efforts.
