RF Central and Total RF go the distance for NYC Marathon

RF Central and Total RF joined forces on Nov. 5 to facilitate a live broadcast of the 2006 ING New York City Marathon in its entirety. WNBC-DT in New York aired the marathon live in its entirety. A total of 18 RF Central six-way diversity receivers (RFX-RMR-X6) were used throughout the 26mi event to receive the RF microwave transmissions.

In addition, six on-course vehicles and two helicopters transmitted the footage using five camera-mounted wireless transmitters (RFX-CMT) and three portable digital transmitters (RFX-PDT). Total RF and RF Central provided 52 technicians and production specialists to produce the event.
