Schilling Robotics goes deep with Avitech video monitoring systems

Schilling Robotics has chosen Avitech’s multi-image display processors for use in a variety of applications for subsea remote operated vehicles (ROVs).

Schilling Robotics provides subsea equipment, including a range of technically sophisticated underwater robots. Its ROVs, which are designed for deep-sea construction, maintenance, surveying and inspection, are used specifically by the offshore oil and gas industries.

Schilling has ordered Avitech's MCC-8004 production modules, and VCC-4cIP video command center modules, which monitor the video sources coming from multiple deep-sea cameras on the ROV, while the VCC modules are used with VGA inputs to monitor computer signals coming from a PC-based sonar system.

The Avitech multiviewer systems are designed to be modular, which has allowed Schilling to combine video and computer signals in one system, and combine Avitech units when necessary.
