Schoeps shows shotgun microphone

Schoeps has introduced its first shotgun microphone that produces a natural sound not thought possible with a typical interference-tube shotgun microphone design.

The CMIT 5u, weighing only 3oz, has three pushbutton-activated filters: high-frequency emphasis (+5dB at 10kHz); steep low-cut filter (18dB/oct. below80 Hz); and gentle low-frequency rolloff (6dB/oct. below 300Hz). A pair of LEDs next to each filter pushbutton indicates the status (in/out) of each filter

The microphone offers RF immunity, has low coloration of off-axis sound for a shotgun, and has a pickup pattern consistent in both the horizontal and vertical planes. It offers increased directivity at medium frequencies and is less sensitive to wind noise than a Schoeps CMC 641.

The CMIT 5U includes a wood box, WS 140 foam windscreen and a SG 20 stand clamp.
