Scopus to upgrade Doordarshan digital broadcast infrastructure

Doordarshan, India’s national television service and largest broadcaster, has selected Scopus Network Technologies to upgrade its digital broadcast infrastructure.

Scopus’ digital broadcast platforms are being used to expand an existing nationwide terrestrial transmission system and will be used throughout India for the re-distribution of TV signals from digital to analog. During the first half of 2003, Scopus supplied more than 1,000 IRD-2800 professional Integrated receiver decoders to Doordarshan for operation at hundreds of reception sites throughout India.

Scopus’ digital platforms include special features to meet Doordarshan’s technical specifications. These include the integration of audio/video monitoring at the front panel and multiple satellite reception inputs. Doordarshan’s new platforms will be used for redistribution of TV programs on its nationwide terrestrial transmission network.
