SGI to debut Prism at NAB2005

SGI will present a new open IT platform for media at NAB2005.

The Silicon Graphics Prism is a compact, open architecture platform that handles multiple ingest channels, multiple uncompressed HD and 2K streams, and the 4K requirements of digital cinema mastering and digital intermediates.

The system also features:

  • Industry standards-based, 64-bit Intel Itanium 2 processors
  • The 64-bit Linux operating system
  • Scalable ATI graphics processors (GPUs)
  • New graphics technology

The Prism will be demonstrated with the Sony 4K projector in NAB booth SL1943. For more information, visit www.sgi.com.
