SingTel selects P-Cube P2P control for Singapore’s largest DSL service

SingTel, Singapore's largest DSL service provider, has selected the P-Cube Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Control Solution to address the growing congestion, and subsequent network costs incurred by Peer-to-Peer traffic on its broadband network.

P2P applications continue to gain acceptance, driving increased network and Internet traffic growth on a global scale. As a result, broadband service providers can incur significant costs and have to confront many operational challenges as they struggle with decreased available bandwidth. P-Cube's P2P control solution plays a critical role in service providers' ability to manage P2P bandwidth usage and ensure network performance remains high.

The P2P control solution enables service providers the ability to detect and manage P2P usage on their networks for a wide variety of protocols and variants. At the core of the solution is the P-Cube Service Engine, a purpose-built IP Service Control Platform that is able to detect, analyze, and control IP traffic. The platform's programmable interface enables service providers to quickly respond to changing and emerging P2P applications.
