Sky News has placed an order for the DNS-33W, Ikegami’s new EDITCAM 3, for deployment in its Delhi news bureau.
The DNS-33W supersedes the DNS-201W EDITCAM 2, which has been in use for more than three years.
The new camcorder has low-power consumption and a high signal-to-noise ratio (65db). FieldPak recorders, the removable recording medium used with EDITCAM 3, can now store up 80GB of footage, and the use of new Rampak flash memory technology makes the cassette door hinge the only moving part in the recording system.
