South African Broadcasting (SABC) has gone live with the new .Net-based version of Pilat Media’s Integrated Broadcast Management System (IBMS v6) at its facilities in Johannesburg. The IBMS will serve as SABC’s centralized content management, scheduling and media asset management system for the broadcaster’s entire TV operations.
SABC’s content management workflow is being streamlined with IBMS, from media acquisition and rights management to scheduling, media management, log preparation and analysis. IBMS replaces six disparate systems and will be used by more than 400 staff members across five different departments. The new .Net version also provides increased on-screen functionality, more sophisticated reporting capabilities and a future path for adding additional revenue-generating services.
